It’s hard to talk about the most beautiful beaches in Corfu without starting with Paleokastritsa. Here, the vegetation slopes down to the sea, and the coastline alternates between small beaches and coves with blue waters. Yes, Paleokastritsa is well-known. But it’s worth taking the time to explore it beyond the main beach. A tip: explore the surrounding area and, if you have the chance, discover the coastline in a different way with our boat tours in Corfu. From the sea, the landscape takes on a whole new dimension. To reach Porto Timoni, you’ll need to hike down from the Afionas area. The trail can be steep, so sturdy shoes and water are your best friends.
And here's a tip: turn around on the way down. The view is part of the experience.

Located near Liapades, Rovinia Beach is perfect for those who prefer small coves to large, developed beaches.
Vegetation, pebbles, and crystal-clear water: the setting is simple and natural, and that’s exactly what people come here for.
A tip: Make sure you have everything you need before heading down. Once you're settled by the water, you don't want to have to move again.
Perfect for: playing Robinson Crusoe for a few hours.
Here, there’s less of that “secret little cove” vibe: people come here for open space, nature, and a more unspoiled side of Corfu. The wind is also part of the area’s character, and the region is particularly popular for kitesurfing.

In northeastern Corfu, Avlaki Beach offers yet another kind of atmosphere. With its pebble-lined bay, clear water, and pleasant setting, it’s the perfect spot for those who simply want to slow down.
Another advantage? Its proximity to Kassiopi.
A word of advice: don’t come to this area just to go swimming. Take the opportunity to explore Kassiopi, its harbor, and its narrow streets, and make it a full day out in northern Corfu.

Paleokastritsa for its iconic scenery, Porto Timoni for adventure, Rovinia for its small, secluded cove, Halikounas for its wide-open spaces, and Avlaki for a more relaxing day.
Our advice? If your trip allows it, don’t limit yourself to just one. It’s precisely by traveling from one coast to the other that you’ll discover just how different Corfu’s beaches can be.
In Corfu, driving isn't the only way to explore the coastline. Some coves and stretches of coastline take on a whole new dimension when viewed from the sea.

It really depends on the beach. In Paleokastritsa, you’ll easily find taverns and cafés nearby, while Porto Timoni doesn’t have any restaurants right on the beach: it’s best to eat or bring something to drink and snack on over in Afionas. Rovinia is also quite undeveloped.
Access varies greatly. In Rovinia, you leave your car behind and finish the journey on foot along a rocky path. To get to Porto Timoni, you have to park near Afionas and then walk down to the bays. Paleokastritsa is much better developed and more accessible.
Not all of them are like that, and that’s part of their charm. Paleokastritsa has developed beaches, while Porto Timoni and Rovinia are much more undeveloped, lacking the typical amenities of a developed beach.
Water, sunscreen, and shoes suitable for the trail are a good starting point. In Porto Timoni, in particular, there are no taverns, restrooms, or showers on the beach. And there are no trash cans either: whatever you bring down with you, you’ll have to carry back up.
Yes, and it's actually a great way to explore Corfu. Porto Timoni pairs naturally with Afionas, Rovinia with Liapades, and Avlaki can be included in a day trip around Kassiopi.
